L and Beau. L is one of my newer riders and is by all definitions a total beginner though she did take a handful of reining lessons last summer. She’s had about 4 lessons with me and quickly mastered things that often take a good few months for most new riders. I decided that even though its way ahead of my usual schedule and I don’t like pushing riders too fast that in this case it was time to jump.

This is her first jump. Needless to say, I am really impressed with this kid and am excited to be teaching her, I imagine shes going to only continue to rapidly improve. She might be starting a bit late compared to so many equestrians but I have zero doubt she’ll catch up in no time.

She has a great natural position!! Doesn’t look like her first jump at all

man, i’ve been riding since i was a little kid, and did my first “real” jump when i was about 16…yeah it looked nothing like this. my position still doesn’t look like this! haha that’s amazing :)
